Outfit | Father's Day

Dress, TFNC via ASOS - £38 | Biker Jacket, H&M - £14.99 | Clutch (Actually a tablet case), Linea @ House of Fraser - Sample Sale | Shoes, Notting Hill - £5

This is only the second time I've had someone take my outfit pictures for me and I absolutely loved how they turned out.

We went to Prezzo for Father's Day and I told my sister that I wanted to take outfit pictures before we left so we rushed out after a very yummy dessert and began snapping away on my dad's iPhone.

I first wore this dress for my birthday in April and thought I'd get it out again because I haven't worn it since and I just love the fit and fluffy skirt. This jacket was a very lucky buy that I managed to get in H&M. I had been searching for the black one in a 12 after finding a brown one and was just about to pay for my other things sadly and leave before I spotted a pile on the counter, so I grabbed one, paid and left a happy bunny.
I'm actually a size 10 in jackets but I didn't want it to fitted just in case I wanted to wear a jumper underneath it.

Contagion (Steven Soderbergh, 2011)

Contagion (2011) Poster

Cast: Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne, Marion Cotillard, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bryan Cranston

Summary: Healthcare professionals, government officials and everyday people find themselves in the midst of a worldwide epidemic as the CDC works to find a cure.

Genre: Drama, Sci-Fi

I had been wanting to watch Contagion for a while but as usual I never got round to it, until I went to visit one of my friends who just happened to have two copies of the dvd lying around one of which she gave me!

Whenever I watch films about the spread of viruses, or films like The Day After Tomorrow (2004) I always think about what I would do to survive and this was definitely one of those films.

This film tells the story of a surface transmitted disease that makes you question your own personal habits, more specifically what you do with your hands. How many times a day you touch your face? I'm pretty sure the majority of people don't know the answer, I know I don't but I'm going to guess it's a lot, it’s a natural habit that we do unconsciously

Contagion is another one of these films much like Carriers (2009) where the spread of panic is almost as bad, sometimes even worse than the spread of the actual disease itself.
Contagion (2011) Still
This film has quite an ensemble cast and for me it feels as though most of the characters aren’t really explored, you get a small glimpse of them and that’s pretty much it. For me it feels like maybe the most explored is Jude Law’s character Alan Krumwiede, the almost villain who campaigns to get people to forgo the vaccinations in favour of his herbal remedy.

And another note- I think this poster’s very cool, I love the way the title is spelled out.

Have you seen Contagion? What did you think?

My Rating: 8/10

Outfit | Double Denim

Tencel Western Shirt, Mint Velvet - £14.75 (Uniform) | Faux Leather Waistcoat, Primark - Gift | Skinny Jeans, Primark - £13 | Bag, Primark - £12 | Zip Up Buckle Boots, Primark - £18 | Gold Boyfriend Watch, ASOS - £17.60

Once again I'm still in love with these jeans, so much so that I'm debating buying another pair.
This shirt was an instant buy at work for me. I'm very difficult when it comes to choosing my uniform because I don't like to buy uniform just for the sake of buying it, I like to buy uniform that I can see myself wearing outside of work and when we finally started getting shirts with collar's I knew I had to get one.

I haven't got a good shot of my shoes in here but you can see them better here. I'm not a big heels wearer I normally wear these chunky boots or some ankle boot wedges I have and I only normally wear them when I go out somewhere, but I thought let's do something different so I wore them out during the day when I went to visit a friend.

The End of an Era, Well 3 Years

So it's official. Well it's been official for a month but I'm only just getting round to writing this post, but I finally finished university on April 30th and I graduate on July 16th!

April was jam packed for me what with writing an 8000 word dissertation, a 2000 word essay, visiting friends and family and celebrating my 21st birthday, so I took the first 2 weeks of April off work to give me a bit of extra free time to get everything done.

Fast forward a few tears and panics I had finally finished my dissertation, but actually submitting it was a BIG BIG hassle. First the file was too big to submit online; secondly when I went to print it the printer I used somehow managed to change the font to an Arial 9 and the rest Arial 12.
After a panicked phonecall to my dad, he resent me the file and I ran to a different shop to print it out (which ended up being a lot cheaper, although quite a bit longer), before running to Rymans to get it bound for a lovely £3.69.

Thankfully I didn't get caught up in the tube strikes when I made my way to submit my bound copy an HOUR before the deadline (which I was amazed by, seeing as I don't live close).

I thought that was the end of it until. The day after I almost had a heart attack when I received an email from my supervisor saying that I failed to submit my bound copy. She thought it was strange that I wouldn't submit work and not email her if there was a problem. I told her I did indeed submit it and she managed to find it a couple of hours later... right where I submitted it, in the drop box where it was supposed to be submitted. I mean honestly.
