OOTD: Granite

Vest, Primark - £3 | Skater Skirt, Topshop (out of stock) - Gift | Ruby Quilted Cross Body Bag, Therapy by House of Fraser - Gift | Sandals, Linzi

I wore this outfit a couple of weeks back on a quick trip to Primark to return some stuff, it was insanely hot so I thought I'd wear my skater skirt from Topshop becasue I'm pretty sure it hates me (I've only worn it once) but it was a nice change because I rarely get my legs out. I actually wore my black pumps with this outfit I only changed into the sandals for these pictures because I used my white nail polish.

Ps. I´m currently in Gran Canaria on holiday so posts will be a little off for this week. Hopefully I´ll be able to get some posts done later.

Mirrors (Alexandre Aja, 2008)

Mirrors (2008)

Cast: Kiefer Sutherland, Paula Patton, Amy Smart, Jason Flemyng and Ezra Buzzington

Summary An ex-cop and his family become the targets of a mysterious evil force that is using mirrors as a gateway into their home.

Genre: Horror, Thriller, Mystery

The first time I watched this film I wasn't too sure if I liked it or not because as we all know I'm not one for horror films, although suprisingly I'm not too bad with gory horror films.

Like I expected Mirrors totally freaked me out so watching it again at night probably wasn't my bestest idea ever and it's definitely safe to say that I totally thought twice about looking in any of the mirrors in my house the next morning.

I love, love, love Kiefer Sutherland and I have done ever since I first watched Stand By Me (1986), and I think he does a pretty good job in this film.

However I did find that the storyline was a little hard to follow at times (which is part of the reason why I had to watch it twice). I think starts off really well and it was easeir to follow the second time round but there were definaitely parts that I thought could have been better.
Mirrors (2008) Still
Again we all know I love a good special effect and this film definitely has some brilliant effects that leave you wondering how they did it.

My Rating: 6/10
One Final Word: Great

OOTD: Disco

Denim Shirt, Primark via ASOS - £10 | Cami, Primark - £5 | Disco Pants, Primark - £16 | Pumps, Primark - £4

The return of the braids!! I took out the last set called Kinky Twists (seen here) back in the middle of June and went back to curly hair for a few weeks before I started to straighten it again. I thought I might as well get them done again to help my hair grow more before I go on holiday, it worked the last time so I hope it works again. This one matches my actual hair colour whereas the other one was too black, and it's so much lighter now that I can actually style it.

Anyway onto the all Primark outfit. So I finally got another pair of disco pants these ones from Primark, after getting the Glamorous black ones that turned out to be charcoal plus they were way to big up top. I fell in love with these after seeing them on Sam Muses blog and I finally managed to find them in my size; I paired them with my favourite cami, pumps and denim shirt. After I took the pictures I changed the denim shirt for a sheer black one instead.

All images are my own.

30 Movies That Aren't As Bad As You Remember - Part 1

I found this mega cool article on Total Film about movies that aren't as bad as you remember them which I thought was definitely worth a feature on the ol' blog. I think it's such a good idea to go back and take another look at films to see if they're as bad as you remember.

Part 2 will be up in a couple of weeks.

Movies That Aren't So Great 1
30. Twilight (2008)
29. Spawn (1997)
28. Lady In The Water (2006)

Now we all know I love me a bit of Twilight and that I can also see why people hate it, but honestly the first one is the best of the lot. I pretty much always think that the first film in a series is the best one. With Twilight its fresh story that people may not have seen before and Jacob keeps his shirt on.

I've wanted to see Lady In The Water for ages now, but it's another film I haven't gotten round to watching.

Movies That Aren't So Great 2
27. Cutthroat Island (1995)
26. John Carter (2012)
25. Hudson Hawk (1991)

I wanted to see John Carter when I first saw the trailers for it but I think I lost interest when I kept hearing loads of people say it was awful. I should still probably see it so I can see for myself what's so bad about it.

Movies That Aren't So Great 3
24. Spiderman 3 (2007)
23. Miami Vice (2006)
22. Cowboys & Aliens (2011)

Bleurgh Spiderman, I've never really been a massive fan of Spiderman, but the first of the original trilogy (with Tobey Maguire) is my ultimate favourite even against the new updated The Amazing Spiderman.

I really, really like Cowboys & Aliens, I've seen it quite a few times. There are definitely things that could have been better or made clearer but I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people said it was.

Movies That Aren't So Great 4
21. Hook (1991)
20. The Razor's Edge (1984)
19. Terminator Salvation (2009)

I think Hook is a pretty amazing film. I couldn't get enough of it as a child and watched it repeatedly with my sister; I mean who doesn't love a bit of "Run Home Jack".

I've only seen the third original Terminator film (which I didn't like) I'm not really sure what it was about and how it links to Terminator Salvation.

Movies That Aren't So Great 5
18. Cars (2006)
17. Ishtar (1987)
16. Tron: Legacy (2010)

I absolutely loved Tron: Legacy, I even watched in 3D (which I'll admit was a waste of time and money). The story and the acting is definitely weak in parts but as we all know I love a good and they are what did it for me. Well almost, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing (can anybody say DAFT PUNK)!

Movies That Aren't So Great 6
15. Halloween (2007)

I've only seen the original Halloween which I thought was good, but I've heard that most of the sequels aren't very good. I'm not a horror film fan so I don't have much interest in watching any of the others.

Skyline (Colin and Greg Strause, 2011)

skyline movie poster

Cast: Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson, David Zayas, Donald Faison, Brittany Daniel

Summary: The residents of Los Angeles are awakened in the dead of night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they vanish into thin air.

Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller

I first watched this back in December 2010 on Christmas Day with my mum, dad, sister and grandad, so I have to start off by saying this is definitely a film for the family, although some scenes maybe not for young children.

The film starts straight away with the first scene showing us the start of the real action before it jumps back a few hours to show us how we got to that point. I liked that it doesn't start in the typical way and leave me thinking when is the action going to start, plus it only takes around 20 minutes before we get back to the opening scene so things get back on track pretty quickly.
I did think it was a little bit strange at first that you don't really get to know the characters throughout the film, but then again I suppose our focus is meant to be on Jared (Eric Balfour) and Elaine (Scottie Thompson) as they are who the story really follows. Eric Balfour might I add, is quite the looker.
Skyline (2010) Still
I loved the story it's really easy to follow and there are definitely a couple of shocks with unexpected events, things that you did NOT see coming (well for me anyway). Plus despite not knowing much about Jared and Elaine you do end up getting quite attached to them. As usual I have to say a few words about the special effects as for me they're important and these deserve an A+, that end sequence gets me everytime.

My Rating: 9/10
One Final Word: EXCELLENT!

Wishlist- #7

I absolutely love the Topshop playsuit, if they did a shorts suit version of the playsuit I would totally buy it. I've already bought the H&M dress and I tried on the Warehouse dress at work a few weeks ago but I haven't got round to buying it just yet. I'm going on holiday in a few weeks so the crop tops, jellies, white nail varnish would be perfect as I'm in need of some crop tops and I've been wanting to try out white nail varnish for a while. Plus jelly shoes are back!! They bring back so many memories of my childhood it's ridiculous, plus they would be great for waling on rocky surfaces.
Finally hair rings... they need no further explanation.

If Movie Posters Told The Truth - Part 1

So I stumbled upon this mega cool article on theshiznit.co.uk during one of my night escapades on stumbleupon and thought I just have to put it up on here for you guys to see.

1. Jack and Jill
2. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
3. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

This Twilight poster made me laugh because it's so true, it made me think of New Moon or as I like to call it the one where nothing happens.

4. Johnny English Reborn
5. Warrior
6. Real Steel

7. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
8. The Three Musketeers
9. Friends With Benefits

10. I Don't Know How She Does It
11. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
12. Abduction

I've seen Abduction but it was a while ago, so I can't remember if he went shirtless or not. He must have, its Taylor Lautner, it's probably written in his contract somewhere.

13. Contagion
14. The Thing
15. In Time

The tagline for The Thing poster would be absolutely perfect if I had seen John Carpenter's The Thing, but I suppose it's true for most people that have seen it. The In Time poster is great as well, I've seen it maybe three times but I only watched it the second time as I didn't really understand what was going on.

16. Drive
17. Puss In Boots

Are there any other films and posters that you can think of?

OOTD: Uniform #2

Kaylie Print Pintuck Blouse, Mint Velvet - £17.25 | Leggings, Primark | Pumps, Primark - £4

If you haven't noticed I've finally made the move to taking photo's outside, what do you think?

I bought this blouse at the beginning of July as part of my new uniform for the season. At first I wasn't going to buy it as the 8 wasn't as fitted as I wanted, but after a day of trying on different tops I decided to just get it and wear it with a belt. Now as the name says it's actually a blouse but because it's been ridiculously hot recently I decided to wear it as a tunic/dress with some leggings.

I bought the pumps again weeks ago (I'm behind on these outfit posts) to replace my shameful trainer pumps things (whatever they are) that I'd been wearing to work for the past couple of months because I didn't have any other comfortable shoes.
