Most Rewatched Films: Part 1

So I was reading an article on Total Film where some of the staff went through their most watched movies, I thought it would make a pretty cool post so I decided to do my own. You can find the Total Film article here and now onto the first part of this post.

By the way this is in no particular order.

2012 (2009) | Cloverfield (2008) | Double, Double Toil and Trouble (1993) | Four Brothers (2005)

I think I've talked about Four Brothers before but I just remember I was obsessed with it as soon as I saw it, I absolutely love the story (and Mark Wahlberg and Garrett Hedlund)

Howl's Moving Castle (2004) | Jaws 3-D (1983) | The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) | Poseidon (2006)

Haha I think I've said this before but Jaws 3 is one of my un-guilty guilty pleasures, it's so awful especially the graphics but I love it. Now Jurassic Park, I really like all three of the films but the second is my favourite and the one I've seen the most mainly because it has Jeff Goldbulm in it and you can't beat a bit of ol' Jeff. I talked a tiny bit about Poseidon in this Blogger Picks post, but it's definitely a film I could watch on repeat.

Saving Private Ryan (1998) | Tarzan (1999) | The Day After Tomorrow (2004) | The Matrix (1999)

Saving Private Ryan needs no words it's one of my most absolute favourite films of all time of. It's such an amazing story and has some brilliant detailed sets. Plus Barry Pepper, Edward Burns, Adam Goldberg, Jeremy Davies and Giovanni Ribisi all in one film. I die.

It would be an embarrassment for me if Tarzan didn't make this list, it holds so many childhood memories and it features on of the best soundtracks of all time. Sometimes I would just watch the film to sing along with the songs.
The Day After Tomorrow has probably been watched the same ridiculous amount of times War of the Worlds has. Definitely a firm favourite and one of the films I would follow almost step by step if it ever happened (I may or may not have had a bit of an over active imagination a few years back).

The Mist (2007) | The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior (2008) | The Secret Garden (1993) | The Time Machine (2002)

I've loved The Mist ever since I first watched it, you can find my review here (The Mist).
Guy Pearce is one of my favourite actors so The Time Machine was an easy favourite when I watched it all those years ago, I can't help but love it even more whenever I watch it, it even stars Samantha Mumba (where is she now)!!? The original is brilliant too, I haven't seen it in a couple of years but its a DVD I need to add to my collection.

Now The Secret Garden. I remember watching it back in primary school when I was in year 6, so 10 years ago :O (wow I'm old) it was so good that I went and got the VHS (that's how old I am, VHS was all there was). Then I went and got it on DVD to replace the VHS and it's another film I could watch on repeat for hours.

War of The Worlds (2005)

So this film I have seen a ridiculous number of times and is one of my all time favourite films I'm in love with Tom Cruise, Justin Chatwin and Dakota Fanning. I love the story and the effects, the voice over by Morgan Freeman at the beginning and end just make it that much better. The effects again are awesome, we all know I love a good special effect.

Wishlist- #4

Click the images to take you to the item

I realised the other day I don't really have many going out dresses so I'm on a mission to find a bunch in the next few months. The two dresses in the top row are from Missguided, now the first dress is more of a going out dress then the contrast one but I have feeling it won't suit me as well, but I think I'm definately going to order them both when I get the chance.

Now the dress and the shirt in the second row are both from Mint Velvet. Payday's coming up and I'm thinking about getting these two pieces as part of my uniform. I already have a pair of jeans, trousers and a top but I want a shirt and I'm really hoping the dress will fit because none of the ones I've tried on so far actually do.

This whole wishlist is looking very monochrome but I'm actually attempting to get myself into wearing brighter colours so I thought I'd add in the cami from Topshop, and because I don't actually own one yet.

OOTD: Fathers Day

Denim Shirt, Primark via Asos - £10 | LBD, H&M - £12 | Wedges, Parmar - £10

Gasp!!! A no glasses shot! I hate not having glasses on: 1. because I can't see, 2. I think I look weird without them and 3. I have really squinty eyes. Anyway, Sunday was Father's Day so my mum, dad, sister, two younger cousins, their parents and myself went to the buffet resturant Cosmo and this is what I wore.
I'm not really a fan of the resturant, it was fun the first couple of times but now I'm not impressed less because I'm fussy and more because I've realised it's just the same food everytime. Plus the dessert is seriouslsy slacking, I'm not one for cold cake and food that people's hands have been all over.

I ordered the shirt on Asos the day they started selling Primark goodies, I ordered it in a 10 along with and I love the fit of the shirt, slim fitting but not too tight.
I bought this little black dress in summer last year and I love it although it does ride up a lot and finally these shoes! I just happened to see them sitting on the bottom shelf and I couldn't beleive they were only £10, they were an instant buy.

Oh the pictures are a bit blurry as there was a big dirty finger print on the lense :(

Best Films of Total Films Life: Part 2

Original article can be found here.
Best Films of TF Life 1
25. City of God (2002)
24. The Lives of Others (2006)
23. L.A. Confidential (1997)
22. Donnie Darko (2001)

I haven't seen any of these. I say that a lot in these posts, I think some people would be pretty disgraceful to know that I haven't seen Donnie Darko.

Best Films of TF Life 2
21. Rushmore (1998)
20.WALL.E (2008)
19. Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind (2004)
18. Kill Bill Vol 1/2 (2003-2004)

Again not seen any of these. Rushmore was one the films we had to watch one week at UNI, but I missed the screening as I was away essay writing. I do have Kill Bill on DVD so hopefully I'll get to watch it at some point. EDIT (2016): I finally got round to watching both parts of Kill Bill and they were pretty good.

Best Films of TF Life 3
17. Caché (Hidden, 2005)
16. No Country For Old Men (2007)
15. Thin Red Line (1998)
14. The Matrix (1999)

Finally some films I've seen. Caché was a film we were required to watch on my Holocaust and French Colonialism course which I thought was really interesting, as when I've learnt about the holocaust in the past it's only been from a Jewish or German point of view. Caché is a brilliant film but it's one you have to watch very carefully as it is quite confusing at times.

The Matrix needs no discussion, its amazingness speaks for itself.

Best Films of TF Life 4
13. Zodiac (2007)
12. Dead Man's Shoes (2004)
11. The White Ribbon (2009)
10. Oldboy (2003)

I have seen both Dead Man's Shoes and Oldboy a few years ago as part of my Film course at Sixth Form. I didn't know anything about Dead Man's Shoes but I was pleasantly surprised, all the twists and turns and the BIG reveal left me speechless. Talking of speechlessness, Oldboy..... wow, just wow. Hands down one of the best films I have ever seen. Read my Oldboy review!

Best Films of TF Life 5
9. Pan's Labyrinth (2006)
8. Lost In Translation (2003)
7. Fight Club (1999)
6. The Dark Knight (2008)

I've actually seen all of these films (for once). Pan's Labyrinth and Fight Club were again watched in my Film class at Sixth Form. I remember watching Pan's Labyrinth and sitting next to one of my best friends and being nervous because I thought it was a horror film. It does have some horror-like elements but at the end of the film I was just heartbroken. It's a fantastic film that you NEED to watch. (Pan's Labyrinth review)

Fight Club, Fight Club what can I say. Well I'm not actually allowed to talk about Fight Club but I will say that I do have a crush on Mr Ed Norton :)

Funnily enough as awesome as I think the Batman films are I've only seen each of them once. (The Dark Knight review)

Best Films of TF Life 6
5. Mulholland Drive (2001)
4. Magnolia (1999)
3. There Will Be Blood (2007)
2. Memento (2000)

I started watching Mulholland Drive in Sixth Form (again), I actually started watching it by myself as I was the first one to get my coursework finished but I never actually finished watching it. Fast forward 3/4 years and it popped up again at Uni as required watching, but once again I never finished watching it I didn't even get up to where I left off the first time.

I think I've talked about Memento here before, it's one of my favourite films that you have to watch twice for it to make some sort of sense. (Memento review)

Best Films of TF Life 7
1. The Lord of The Rings Trilogy

I'm sorry to admit I'm not the biggest Lord of The Rings fan. I've seen all the films the first one is amazing of course, but I've never liked the final one. My absolute favourite is The Two Towers mostly for the final fight sequecnce which I've watched way too many times to count.

I certainly have no interest in seeing The Hobbit.

OOTD: Orange Midi

Jacket, H&M - Gift | Bag, Primark - £9 | Shirt, Primark - £6 | Midi Skirt, Primark - £8 | Socks, Topshop - £3.50 | Chelsea Boots, Linzi - Gift

So last Sunday I went out with the girls from work to celebrate myself and two other people joining the team in the past 2 months. We went to Dar Marrakesh straight after work, a Bar, Resturant and Shisha Lounge on Edware Road. I'd never had shisha before and I was a little bit nervous as I didn't think I would like it and I didn't really, we had Strawberry and Bubblegum but they just tasted burnt. The food wasn't really anything special and it took ages to come.

Now onto the outfit! This shirt is actually a lot more see through then in the photos, I bought it last year I think. Now this skirt caused me some many problems when I first bought it, I originally bought it in a 12 (when I was a little bit bigger) and it was way to big, so I changed it for a 10 and that was way to big so in the end I settled for an 8 which fits almost perfectly.
The only thing I don't like is the elasticated waistband of the skirt so I often fold it under. And this bag as well I bought it a couple years ago it broke two days after I bought it, I managed to fix it but I don't think it'll last much longer.

State of the Art of Film

So last week I managed to get 2 free tickets to a small film poster exhibition and talk on film in London, I took my good friend Charlotte and future buisness partner along for a quick look, before we headed down to Marble Arch for lunch and a meeting to plan our film season at University.
The event was okay but it wasn't what we were expecting.

Anyway here's some pictures from the event

Favourite picture of the day featuring the lovely Charlotte. Check out her website Charlotte Palmer Films

Best Films of Total Films Life: Part 1

Original article can be found here.

50. The Departed (2006)
49. Children of Men (2006)
48. Good Will Hunting (1997)
47. Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

I saw The Departed a couple of years ago, I don't remember much of what happened but I do remember thinking it was good. Admittedly I only watched it because I knew Mark Wahlberg was in it. (The Departed review)
Children of Men is one of my favourite films, love the plot and the characters. I've only seen it three times but it's definitely a film I won't tire of seeing.

46. Blue Valentine (2010)
45. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
44. Drive (2011)
43. Y Tu Mamá Tabién (2001)

I haven't seen any of these but a few people I know are obsessed with Ryan Gosling so I've heard a lot about Blue Valentine and Drive.

42. Up (2009)
41. The New World (2005)
40. The Truman Show (1998)
39. Casino Royale (2006)

I really loved UP, I thought it was so heart-warming but I definitely don't think it's much of a children's film. I've only seen the Truman Show once and it was quite a while ago, I think I liked it I just remember feeling so sorry for him not knowing that his whole life was a lie.

I'm not sure if I've said this before but I've not seen a James Bond film with Daniel Craig (please don't hate me).

38.American Beauty (1999)
37. Before Sunset (2004)
36. Side Ways (2004)
35. Let The Right One In (2009)

I watched American Beauty as part of my course in sixth form, and I absolutely loved it, I've only seen it once though so I must watch it again. This is the film that got me crushing on Kevin Spacey.

Let the Right One in is another one of my all time favourite films, it was an impulse buy on one of my many HMV trips. I've read the book as well, I can't remember which one I did first but like most adaptations the book is a lot better and more ambiguous.

34. Out of Sight (1998)
33. The Social Network (2010)
32. Spirited Away (2001)
31. In The Mood For Love (2000)

Spirited Away is and will forever be in my top 10.

30. Shaun of The Dead (2004)
29. Gladiator (2000)
28. Brokeback Mountain (2005)
27. Boogie Nights (1997)

I've seen Shaun of the Dead way too many times for my liking (and Hot Fuzz). I've only seen Gladiator a 3 or 4 times, I like it but it always makes me feel so sad and for some reason I always manage to catch the final scene when it shows on TV.

As you know I love Mark Wahlberg so the fact that I have never actually seen Boogie Nights is a disgrace. Must watch it asap!!

26. The Big Lebowski

Nope not seen this. Don't even know what it's about.

Weekend in Brighton

Warning very picture heavy post!!

Car journey to Kent | Happy little red house on the cliff | Hotel room seafront view complete with an iPhone and wallet :p

West Pier Brighton | Families catching the rays | Friendly seagull | Night Time

Amazing graffitti in the lanes | Quick trip to Choccywoccydoodah | Followed by a trip to New York Coffe Club

Me being a mong dancing in outfit photos | My gorgeous cousin

Just a few picture from my weekend in Brighton with the family. The main purpose was to see Peter Andre's coffee shop and the chocolate cake shop with it's own tv show Choccywoccydoodah. To be honest I've seen the show and I'm not too fussed about it but I wasn't impressed with the shop in the slightest, they had scaffolding up, they can't really help that but the shop is ridiculously tiny. I think if you're a fan of the show you'll be impressed.

I wore Bart Jumper - Giveaway win | Skinny Jeans - Primark | Graffitti Converse - Qube (a shop from a good few years ago.)
